The Knights' guard was an integral part of the team that won the men's basketball championship in NCAA Season 95 in 2019.
Yu could be allowed to retain his eligibility in the NCAA despite playing for a professional league like the VisMin Cup if he is able to obtain a special guest license from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB). The NCAA had previously said it would honor these guest licenses for their student-athletes.
According to some reports, there are at least four collegiate players already cleared by GAB to participate in the league.
The Mindanao leg of the league is scheduled to open on May 30. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/JMB, GMA News
