MVP Jokic ejected as Suns sweep Nuggets to advance to Western Conference Finals

The Phoenix Suns defeated the Denver Nuggets, 125-118, in Game 4 to complete a four-game sweep and advance into the NBA Western Conference Finals on Sunday (Monday in Manila).

Chris Paul scored 37 points and dished out seven assists while Devin Booker posted 34 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as the No. 2-seeded Suns moved on to the next round.

NBA MVP Nikola Jokic was ejected from the game after being whistled for a flagrant foul 2 call in the third quarter. He took a wild swipe at the ball and hit Phoenix guard Cameron Payne in the face.

He checked out of the game at 3:52 mark of the third period with 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

With Jokic out of the game, the Suns went on a 13-4 run to turn a seven-point lead into a 16-point margin, 96-80.

Denver tried to rally back in the fourth, coming back to as close as five points on a Monte Morris three-pointer, 121-116. But Phoenix just had enough to pull it through.

Will Barton led Denver with 25 points while Michael Porter Jr. added 20 points.

The Suns followed up their first round elimination of the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers with a dominant performance in the second round versus the Nuggets.

They won the first three games by a margin of 17, 25, and 14 points, respectively.
