TNT bests Rain or Shine in return from two-week layoff

TNT showed no signs of rust in its return to the hardwood after a two-week layoff.

The Tropang Giga asserted their mastery over the skidding Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 79-69, to grab a second win in as many games in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup Friday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The duo of Troy Rosario and RR Pogoy, who each scored 13 points, led the balanced outing for the wards of decorated head coach Chot Reyes.

The team also welcomed its top rookie Mikey Williams, who chipped in seven markers, two rebounds, and three assists in more than 27 minutes of action.

TNT last saw action on July 17 where it outhustled Terrafirma, 86-79, before the team was asked to undergo health and safety protocols after four players were required to take confirmatory COVID-19 tests.

Meanwhile, Rain or Shine was led by an all-around performance by Javee Mocon, who posted 22 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
