Mark Yee feels blessed to join Manila Chooks as they head to FIBA 3x3 Montreal Masters
Veteran basketball player Mark Yee is excited to compete in the FIBA 3x3 Montreal Masters in Canada.
Yee is the newest addition to the quartet of Manila Chooks TM's Mac Tallo, Zac Huang, and Chico Lanete who previously competed in the 3x3 Doha Masters.
The 39-year old player, who is currently affiliated with the Davao Occidental Tigers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, said he would not have thought that he could still represent the country at his age.
“Sobrang blessed. Hindi naman natin maitatago na may edad na tayo para maimbitahan tayo sa ganito kalaking tournament," Yee said.
(I feel blessed. We can't deny that at my age, I'm a little too old to be invited to tournaments like this.)
"Lagi ko lang iniisip na sobrang blessed talaga. Sa pagkakataon na ito, hindi ko naisip na mare-represent ko pa ‘yung bansa natin sa FIBA, sa tanda ko na ito," the veteran player added.
(I always think, I'm really blessed. At this point, I did not think I would be able to represent the country in FIBA at my age.)
Yee and the rest of the Manila Chooks TM are pooled in Group D of the Montreal tournament with world no. 8 Antwerp of Belgium and No. 10 Edmonton of Canada.
They will play their first game on September 5 (Manila time). — LA, GMA News
