Another Filipino talent is taking his act to Japan.

Gilas Pilipinas hotshot Dwight Ramos has decided to turn professional and is set to play as import for the Toyama Grouses in the Japan B. League in the upcoming 2021-2022 season, the team announced on Friday.

The versatile 23-year-old cager becomes the eighth Filipino in the league. He will join Thirdy Ravena, who is set for a second tour of duty for the San-en NeoPhoenix  and his older brother, Kiefer, who will reinforce the Shiga Lakestars.

Brothers Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño are also headed to Japan after signing with Earth Friends Tokyo Z in the second division and Ibaraki Robots, respectively.

Ray Parks had also inked a deal with the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins after getting cleared by the PBA while another Gilas prospect Kemark Carino will power Aomori Wat's in the B2. Prior to Ramos, Kobe Paras was also confirmed to be playing for the Niigata Albirex BB.

Ramos was supposed to see action for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP but with his latest endeavor, he will no longer be eligible to suit up for the three-peat champions.

Ramos saw action for the nationals during the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers where he averaged 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in six games.
