TNT dominates Barangay Ginebra to remain on top of PBA standings

The TNT Tropang Giga handed Barangay Ginebra San Miguel its fifth loss after a dominant 88-67 win in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday in Pampanga.

TNT pulled off a 26-point explosion against Barangay Ginebra's 15 in the fourth period to seal its eighth win in the elimination round.

The Tropang Giga, who led 45-32 at the half, had their biggest lead stand at 23 points, 86-63, after rookie Mikey Williams drilled back-to-back shots after the halfway mark of the final period.

Williams again proved his worth in the squad after posting 27 points, while Jayson Castro proved to be a steady hand in the team as he registered 14 points. Troy Rosario and RR Pogoy contributed 14 and 13 points each.

Japeth Aguilar led Ginebra with 18 points while Christian Standhardinger added 14 markers. Scottie Thompson and Stanley Pringle made 13 and 12 points, respectively.

With the win, TNT now has an 8-1 record, which makes its qualification for the playoffs official. Meanwhile, Barangay Ginebra, goes down in the standings, 3-5.
