Ray Parks, Javi Gomez de Liaño miss their teams' season openers in Japan B.League

Two Filipino cagers were missing in action as the 2021 Japan B. League continued on Saturday.

While a couple of players were able to get their first taste of B.League action, Ray Parks Jr. was out for Nagoya Diamond Dolphins after suffering a muscle strain during the team's practice while Javi Gomez de Liaño was not present in Ibaraki Robots' 84-63 loss to Akita Northern Happinets as he is still completing his quarantine.

Nagoya also lost its opening game to Sunrockers Shibuya, 80-77.

Earlier, Kobe Paras exploded for 25 points in his debut for Niigata Albirex BB, an 85-81 loss to Kyoto Hannaryz.

Kiefer Ravena, too, suited up for the Shiga Lakestars in his first game against his brother Thirdy and his San-en NeoPhoenix. The NLEX guard got the better of his younger sibling as the Lakestars compelted a come-from-behind win, 93-83.
