Kobe Paras, Niigata drop match against Hokkaido
Kobe Paras and the Niigata Albirex BB could not get their momentum going, falling to Levanga Hokkaido, 75-88, in the continuation of the 2021-2022 Japan B.League on Saturday at the Hokkai Kita-yale.
The loss dropped Niigata to a 2-3 win-loss record and will be eying recovery when they face the same team on Sunday, October 17, at 1:05 p.m.
Paras made his presence felt early, scoring 11 points in the first half but his output was not enough as Niigata trailed by huge 16 points at the break, 45-29.
The second-generation baller, though, went silent in the second half, converting only one basket in the third and was scoreless in the fourth as Niigata endured its third loss in five outings.
The former UP Fighting Maroon finished with 13 points, three rebounds, and a block in almost 28 minutes of action. Paras' output, though, was still the highest on the team after Rosco Allen and Tshilidzi Nephawe poured in 12 and 10 points.
Hokkaido was led by Ryoma Hashimoto, who sparked off the bench with 20 points while De'mon Brooks and Tsukasa Nakano produced 13 markers each.
