Ray Parks drops 17 points to propel Nagoya past Dwight Ramos, Toyama


Ray Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins swept Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses in their matches this weekend after winning on Sunday, 99-74, in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League).

It was a wire-to-wire show of dominance for the Dolphins, with the Parks-led team having their biggest lead at 30, 95-65, at the 3:08 mark of the fourth period.

Nagoya pulled away in the third period after scoring 29 points against the Grouses' 15 to end the quarter at 72-53.

Toyama were just five points behind at the end of the first half, 43-38.

Parks scored a team-high 17 points in their win, on top of six rebounds and four steals. Coty Clarke registered 14 points, while Takumi Saito and Tenji Harimoto rounded up the double digit scorers with 12 and 11 each.

Ramos, meanwhile, registered nine points in his second loss since debuting in the B.League. Joshua Smith had 13 markers while Julian Mavunga had 11 points.

The Dolphins are now 11th in the standings with three each for wins and losses, while Toyama is winless in six games.

Nagoya will see action next week against Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars. Meanwhile, Toyama will play Ryukyu next weekend.
