TNT veteran Kelly Williams released from hospital, but still awaiting further assessment
TNT Tropang Giga head coach Chot Reyes shared that Kelly Williams has been released from the hospital after the seasoned big man hurt his back in the team's 88-70 Game 1 win over Magnolia in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup finals on Wednesday.
Williams, however, is not yet totally cleared from an injury as he is set to undergo further assessment today.
"He was released from the hospital last night, but will consult a specialist today," Reyes told GMA News Online in a message Thursday morning.
Williams suffered a strained back midway through the third quarter and had to be carried out of the playing court on a stretcher. The 6-foot-6 slotman was not able to finish the match but still poured in 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists in 17 minutes of action.
No words yet from TNT camp if Williams will be available come Game 2 on Friday, where they will eye to establish a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Hotshots. — LA, GMA News
