Kobe Paras held to six points as Niigata gets blown out by Mikawa
Niigata Albirex BB struggled to put points on the board as they were blown out by the Seahorses Mikawa, 81-58, in Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League) action on Friday at the Niigata City East Sports Center.
Kobe Paras scored only two points over the first three quarters of the game to finish with a total of six points on 3-for-9 shooting, playing close to 29 minutes in the contest.
Paras entered the game averaging 16.3 points per game for Niigata and had scored double figures in all six of his previous games.
But the shots just weren’t falling for Niigata in this one, particularly in the first half, where they could only muster 23 points.
In the third quarter, Mikawa outscored Niigata, 25-14, to extend the lead up to 55-38 before the Seahorses all but put it away with a 9-0 blast to open the fourth period, pushing the lead up to 27 points, 64-38.
With the win, MIkawa improved to 5-2 while Niigata went the opposite direction, 2-5. The two teams clash again on Saturday, October 23.
