Rich Alvarez joins Rain or Shine as assistant coach

Former Philippine Basketball Association player Rich Alvarez is joining the Rain or Shine Elastopainters as an assistant coach.

The Elastopainters welcomed Alvarez on Sunday.

"We're excited to have you on board and look forward to the impact you can bring to our team," the team said in its post.

Alvarez, who was drafted in 2004, played for 12 years in the league. He also had stints as assistant coach with the Mahindra and Phoenix franchises.

Rain or Shine's welcome for Alvarez came the day after it was announced that one of its assistant coaches, Rob Wainwright, left the team.
