PBA to start height measurements for imports for season-ending Governors' Cup this week

The Philippines Basketball Association (PBA) is set to start conducting the height measurement of imports set to see action in the 2021 Governors' Cup, which will mark the first time the league is welcoming reinforcements since 2019.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said about seven or eight imports have arrived in the country but they have to pass the height limit of 6-foot-6 before being able to suit up for their respective clubs.

Marcial said the measurement is penciled in for Friday, November 26.

"We will measure the imports starting this week, on Friday," Marcial told GMA News Online.

Marcial also bared some developments, saying the league has already written a letter addressed to local government units of Pasay, Pasig, Quezon City, Antipolo City, and as well as San Juan in anticipation of holding games in multiple venues.

The letters, Marcial revealed, already included the possibilities of allowing live audiences to watch the games.

"We don't have the exact date yet as to when the conference will start but hopefully, the imports are already complete by this week. Hopefully," Marcial said.
