Kai Sotto to miss Adelaide's season opener due to injury
Kai Sotto won't be suiting up when his Adelaide 36ers open their season in the National Basketball League of Australia on Friday night (Manila time).
The team on Thursday announced that the Filipino prodigy has been sidelined due to knee soreness and will miss their season debut against Perth Wildcats. The Australian club, however, did not mention the extent of Sotto's injury and whether he'll miss more games moving forward.
His teammates Emmanuel Malou (knee soreness) and Sunday Dech (quadricep) are also ruled out of the game.
The 7-foot-3 Sotto only played one game during Adelaide's pre-season preparation in the NBL Blitz, where the 36ers went undefeated and bagged the Loggins-Bruton Cup following a dominant win over the Brisbane Bullets.
