Matt Ganuelas-Rosser set to return to TNT amid the stalled Govs' Cup
Matt Ganuelas-Rosser and the TNT franchise are set for a reunion.
The Tropang Giga on Friday welcomed the high-flying forward as they eye to ramp up their campaign in the suspended 2021 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governors' Cup.
"We’d like to welcome Matt back to the team. Now it’s time to go to work,"TNT said in a Facebook post.
The 31-year-old cager is no stranger to the TNT brand of basketball.
A month after getting picked fourth overall by NLEX Road Warriors in 2014, he was shipped to sister team TNT as part of a trade involving three teams. He went on playing for the club until 2017 and helping it cop two titles: the 2015 and 2017 Commissioner's Cup.
He also had a stint with the San Miguel Beermen from 2017 to 2020 before being involved in a blockbuster trade with Terrafirma, which sent high-profile baller CJ Perez to the Beermen camp.
Ganuelas-Rosser transferred to the Dyip along with Gelo Alolino and Russel Escoto.
According to reports, Ganuelas-Rosser recently declined a new contract offer from Terrafirma, making him an unrestricted free agent according to the league's rules on free agency.
TNT is currently at the middle of the team standings with a 2-2 slate.
