Matt Aquino's Shinshu cruises to fifth win in a row with rout of Hiroshima

Matt Aquino and his Shinshu Brave Warriors cruised to their fifth consecutive win after an 86-72 victory over the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the Japan B.League on Saturday at the White Ring Arena.

Josh Hawkinson led the Brave Warriors with a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds to go along with three assists, two steals, and a block while Wayne Marshall churned out 18 markers and four boards.

Aquino, who is part of the national training pool of Japan for the 2022 Asian Games in September, only logged 18 seconds of play in the win and went scoreless.

Shinshu now boasts a 17-17 win-loss card while Hiroshima dropped to 19-16.

Charles Jackson, meanwhile, provided the spark for the Dragonflies after registering 17 points and six rebounds but his effort went for naught.

Shinshu hopes to make it a weekend sweep of Hiroshima when the two ballclubs collide anew on Sunday.
