Matthew Aquino joins Japan national team pool for World Cup Qualifiers
Matthew Aquino has been invited once again to the Japan men's national basketball team that will see action in the second window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
This is Aquino's third time to be included in Japan's pool as he was also called up for both the first window of World Cup Qualifiers and the 2022 Asian Games.
He however, didn't make the cut for the first window.
Aquino will be joined by Seiya Ando, Aki Chambers, Luke Evans, Nick Fazekas, John Alexander Flippin, Takatoshi Furukawa, Shuta Hara, Makoto Hiejima, Keita Imamura, Kosuke Kanamaru, Naoya Kumagae, Masaaki Morikawa, and Isaiah Murphy.
Also part of the 24-man pool are Yudai Nishida, Kenga Nomoto, Ryan Francis Rossiter, Takumi Saito, Takuma Sato, Avi Koki Schafer, Kosuke Takeuchi, Daichi Taniguchi, Ryo Terashima, and Yuki Togashi.
The 25-year-old Aquino is suiting up as a local player for the Shinshu Brave Warriors in the Japan B. League. His team currently has a 17-18 card for 12th spot. — LA, GMA News
