La Salle demolishes UST, UP extends win streak to eight
UAAP Season 84 returned from its Holy Week break with Adamson University, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, and the University of the Philippines picking up wins on Tuesday in the Mall of Asia Arena.
DLSU bagged the biggest win of the day with the Green Archers demolishing the UST Growling Tigers, 112-83. Schonny Winston exploded for 33 points in La Salle's sixth win in the season.
The Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles continued their title defense bid with a 76-63 win over the UE Red Warriors. BJ Andrade listed 19 points in the Ateneo's 35th consecutive win.
Meanwhile, the UP Fighting Maroons extended their winning streak to eight after surviving the FEU Tamaraws, 73-70. Ricci Rivero and Carl Tamayo made 14 points each for the Diliman-based squad's victory.
The Adamson Soaring Falcons capped the Tuesday games with a 62-55 victory over the NU Bulldogs.
Ateneo stayed as the league's top team with nine wins, while UP held the second spot with an 8-1 card. DLSU (6-3) and NU (4-5) stayed at the 3-4 spots, while FEU, UST, and AdU were tied at 3-6. UE remained winless in nine games.
UAAP action will be back on Thursday.
