Gilas Pilipinas cruises to third win in a row with 51-point rout of Singapore

The Philippine men's basketball team extended its winning streak to three after dominating Singapore with an 88-37 victory to solidify its title defense bid at the 31st SEA Games on Wednesday at the Thanh Tri Gymnasium.

Veteran RR Pogoy and youngster Lebron Lopez teamed up on the offensive end with the TNT star pouring in 19 points off the bench to go with three steals and two rebounds while the 19-year-old high-flyer chipped in 18 markers.

June Mar Fajardo finished with a near double-double of eight points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and a block.

Pogoy was quick to catch fire, pouring in 14 points in the first half alone as the Filipino took a huge 43-17 lead at the half. They showed no mercy in the third, limiting the Singaporeans to just 10 points for a 61-27 lead after the penultimate period.

Lopez then took over in the fourth, notching 11 of the 27-point production of the Filipinos in the frame as they completed the win.

The blowout win came a day after they handed Cambodia a 100-32 loss which came on the heels of a tight 76-73 win over Thailand.
