Kobe Paras now a free agent in Japan B.League
Filipino standout Kobe Paras is now a free agent in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League).
In a statement by Niigata Albirex BB on Friday, Paras' team announced that his contract has already expired.
"At Niigata Albirex BB, we are pleased to inform you that the contract with Kobe Paras has expired and will be announced on the B.LEAGUE free negotiation player list today at 15:00 on May 27 (Friday)," the translated version of its statement read.
Paras joined Niigata in September 2021 as part of the Asian Player quota.
In the 49 games he played, Paras averaged 8.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
At the end of the regular season, Niigata placed last among 22 teams with seven wins and 45 losses.
