Meralco survives Cavitex in OT to claim Leg 2 crown of PBA 3x3 third conference

The Meralco Bolts 3x3 escaped the gritty Cavitex Braves in overtime, 18-17, to claim the Leg 2 title of the PBA 3x3 Third Conference on Sunday at Robinsons Place Las Piñas.

Alfred Batino and Joseph Sedurifa led the Bolts with seven points each while Dexter Maiquez, who nailed the game-winner shot, and Maclean Sabellina chipped in three and one point, respectively.

Sedurifa sent the game into extra period after nailing a bucket that tied the game at 16 with 18 seconds left in the regular frame.

Meralco saw an even slate in the preliminary round, winning over Zamboanga Valientes, 21-13, but lost to Platinum Karaoke, 17-13, for a 1-1 win-loss card.

En route to the finals showdown against Cavitex, Meralco outlasted TNT in the quarterfinals and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the semifinals. Ginebra, though, won the bronze after defeating Terrafirma in the battle for third.
