Kai Sotto meets Jimmy Alapag, joins pre-draft workout in Sacramento

The Filipino connection is strong in Sacramento.

On Thursday, NBA G League Stockton Kings assistant coach Jimmy Alapag posted a photo of him with Kai Sotto as the latter joined a pre-draft workout with the Sacramento Kings.

"Great to see Kai here in Sacramento! Best of luck on your journey to the NBA! The entire country and I are rooting for you!! Keep working," Alapag wrote in the caption of his post.

Sotto threw in his name in the NBA Draft last April.

Aside from Sacramento, the Filipino sensation also had workouts with the Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks ahead of the NBA Draft scheduled on June 23.

In May 2022, Sports Illustrated projected the former player of the Adelaide 36ers to be picked in the second round in its mock draft.
