Amer drills game-winner, Ular registers career-high 34 points to tow Blackwater past Phoenix
Baser Amer showed his clutch skills anew while rookie Ato Ular posted a career-high as the Blackwater Bossing defeated the Phoenix Fuelmasters, 91-89, on Friday in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
With the game tied at 89 with 25 seconds left, Amer pulled up for a shot to give the win to Blackwater. Matthew Wright tried to steal the win with a triple but it did not connect.
Ular was had a standout performance as he tallied a career-best 34 points and 10 rebounds in Blackwater's fourth straight win. Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser was the only other player who scored in double digits with 16 points.
Jason Perkins tallied 22 points each while Matthew Wright and Tyler Tio had 15 points each in Phoenix' fourth straight loss.
Blackwater (5-1) will face the San Miguel Beermen on Sunday, while Phoenix (2-6) will go against NorthPort Batang Pier on Thursday.
