CSB guards Prince Carlos, Migs Oczon out for at least two weeks due to injuries

College of Saint Benilde has hit a snag after two of their main guards are tipped to be out for several weeks after incurring separate injuries in their game against Adamson on Saturday in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup.

Migs Oczon is expected to sit out for more than a month due to a fractured nose and cuts on his forehead he sustained after falling to the floor while attempting for a corner triple with 56 seconds left in the second frame.

According to CSB head coach Charles Tiu, Oczon also lost some teeth in the incident while adding the guard will have to undergo surgery which will force him to be sidelined.

Oczon had just played his first game for the Blazers after completing his residency due to his transfer from National University.

"Miggy has a fractured nose and has cuts and stitches on his forehead and Inside and outside the nose. He lost some teeth and got it chipped," Tiu said to GMA News Online on Sunday morning.

"He will be out for more than a month and will need surgery."

Meanwhile, another CSB guard in Prince Carlos is also expected to be out for two weeks after suffering cuts above his eyes in the same quarter. The 5-foot-11 Carlos was guarding Adamson's Ray Allen Torres when their heads collided at the 7:03 mark of the second quarter.

Both of them had cuts and had to be attended to by the medics.

"Prince has 11 stitches and should be out for two weeks," said Tiu on the day after their tight 80-75 loss to the Soaring Falcons.

CSB will next face Perpetual on Sunday, July 31.

Adamson's Torres, meanwhile, is also set to get his stitches done some time today, according to head coach Nash Racela.

"Ok naman sya. He'll have the stitches done daw today," said Racela in a message.
