June Mar Fajardo takes lead in BPC race of the PBA Philippine Cup
June Mar Fajardo could be copping his record-extending ninth Best Player of the Conference award as he currently tops the statistical points race in the ongoing 2022 PBA Philippine Cup.
The 6-foot-10 giant has collected 43.2 average SPs in the elimination round where the San Miguel Beermen finished atop with a 9-2 win-loss record to clinch a twice-to-beat playoff incentive.
Fajardo is averaging 18.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.6 blocks, and one steal to make a great case for the BPC award, his first since the 2019 Philippine Cup.
Not far behind are his San Miguel teammate CJ Perez and Season 47 Most Valuable Player Scottie Thompson of Ginebra who have piled up 39.5 SPs and 37.9 SPs, respectively.
Another Ginebra star in Japeth Aguilar is at fourth spot with 34.2 SPs while Magnolia guard Jio Jalalon comes in fifth with 34.1 SPs.
Fajardo and San Miguel will face the Blackwater Bossing on Wednesday in their bid to retake the All-Filipino title after missing out on winning it in the past two editions.
