UST scores upset win vs Letran, completes PBA D-League playoff cast

Builders Warehouse-UST booked the last playoff ticket in the 2022 PBA D-League Aspirant's Cup after ousting powerhouse Wangs Basketball @26-Letran, 89-81, on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Three Growling Tigers finished in twin digits with Sherwin Concepcion flaunting another double-double output of 17 points and 14 rebounds to go along with one assist, one steal, and a block as they eliminated the back-to-back NCAA champions.

Kean Baclaan and Nic Cabanero chipped in 16 markers each while Paul Manalang and Bryan Santos chimed in with 10 each.

Meanwhile, Adalem Construction-St. Clare notched a huge 80-66 victory over red-hot Apex Fuel-San Sebastian to cement its placing at third spot with John Edcel Rojas unleashing 20 points.

The playoff cast has been completed with San Sebastian and EcoOil-La Salle gaining an outright semis ticket with identical 5-2 win-loss cards. St. Clare (4-3) and Marinerong Pilipino (4-3), meanwhile own a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals where they will go up against CEU (4-3) and UST (3-4).
