Gilas' Dwight Ramos raves about playing with NBA star Jordan Clarkson

The fourth window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers was definitely one for the books for Dwight Ramos.

The 23-year-old Gilas Pilipinas guard was all praises for his new teammate Jordan Clarkson, who was nothing short of impressive in his two games for the national team this window, highlighted by a stellar outing in his home debut last Monday night.

Ramos shared that although Clarkson has achieved many things as a Utah Jazz star in the NBA, he remains humble and fit in well with his Gilas teammates.

"He's very unselfish [and] a very humble guy," Ramos said on the heels of their 84-46 romp of Saudi Arabia in front of a sellout crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena.

"He's an NBA superstar but he's just like one of us. He's a really nice guy to be around and to play with also."

Clarkson has lived up to the billing so far, unleashing an all-around performance in their 85-81 loss to Lebanon with 27 points, seven assists, and six rebounds while he steered the nationals to a bounce-back victory against Saudi Arabia with 23 markers, six dimes, and five boards.

Ramos, on the other hand, joined in with nine points, six rebounds, and two assists as Gilas gave the fans a win on the National Heroes' Day.

"We started off slow but we're starting to get there. We're gonna keep trying," added Ramos.

"I was excited to play these two games. With a limited practice, I think we did our aim and we will keep building and improving for the World Cup."
