Ray Parks, Nagoya open new B.League season with win over SeaHorses Mikawa


Ray Parks Jr. and his Nagoya Diamond Dolphins squad prevailed over SeaHorses Mikawa, 101-86, in the opening game of the new B.League season on Thursday.

Nagoya started gaining momentum in the second quarter to end the first half in their favor, 50-37, after leading by just eight points at the end of the first quarter.

It was all Nagoya since then to claim their first win and spoil the opening night of Indonesian Brandon Jawato's team.

Parks had 14 points, four assists, and one board in the match, while Coty Clarke tallied 24 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists to lead the Dolphins.

Anthony Lawrence II posted 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists to lead Mikawa while Jawato was limited to two points, two rebounds, and an assist.

More games will open on Saturday as the league will go full steam ahead on opening weekend.

Parks and his Nagoya squad will try to replicate their win when they face Mikawa again on Saturday.
