Phoenix downs Rain or Shine, extends streak to four
The Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters took down the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 92-83, on Wednesday in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
The win extended the Fuel Masters' winning streak to four to improve to 4-3.
Phoenix pulled away in the third quarter and led by as much as 18 points, 68-50, past the midpoint of the said frame.
Import Kaleb Wesson posted 21 points and 17 boards, while Encho Serrano led the locals with 18 points. RJ Jazul added 11 in the Phoenix win.
Meanwhile, Rain or Shine reinforcement Steve Taylor, Jr. dominated the boards with 19 rebounds on top of his 16 points, while Gian Mamuyac and Rey Nambatac chipped in 14 points and 12 points, respectively, in the loss which brought them down to 3-4.
Phoenix will play on Sunday against TNT, while Rain or Shine will face Magnolia on Saturday.
