Scottie Thompson stuns San Miguel with game-winner, steals the win for Ginebra

Scottie Thompson proved again why he is the reigning Most Valuable Player.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Sunday stunned the San Miguel Beermen after Thompson connected on a triple with four ticks left in the game to steal the win, 97-96, in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

San Miguel led by as much as 19 in the fourth period before Ginebra detonated for 34 points against SMB's 16.

Ginebra import Justin Brownlee flirted with a triple-double after registering 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists, while Thompson had 14 points.

The Ginebra win spoiled Devon Scott's 26-point, 21-rebound effort for the Beermen.

Ginebra (5-2) will be back in action on November 18 against the Blackwater Bossing, while SMB (3-4) will play Magnolia on November 16.
