Myles Powell made an explosive return in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup and dropped 50 points in the Bay Area Dragons' 120-87 win over the Rain or Shine Elastopainters on Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Aside from being Bay Area's anchor on offense as he drilled 11 of 17 triples, Powell also registered 10 boards in Bay Area's win which improved their standings to 7-2.
After leading by just a point at the end of the first period, the Dragons pulled away in the second and third periods as Bay Area made 29 and 30 points, respectively. The team also limited Rain or Shine to just a total of 31 in the two periods to take control of the game until the final buzzer.
Chuanxing Liu was the only other double-digit scorer for Bay Area with 11 points.
Anton Asistio scored a team-high 20 points for the Elastopainters, while Rey Nambatac tallied 12 points. Ryan Pearson tallied only nine points in his debut.
The Dragons will be back in action on Sunday against the NLEX Road Warriors, while Rain or Shine (4-5) will face Converge on the same day in the second game.
