NorthPort comes back from 15 down, deals Terrafirma 25th straight loss

The NorthPort Batang Pier erased a double-digit deficit to stun Terrafirma, 91-85, in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The Dyip were able to lead by as much as 15, 44-31, early in the second quarter with a Juami Tiongson jumper before they finished the half with a 55-45 cushion.

But the Batang Pier unleashed a strong second half effort, outscoring Terrafirma in the fourth, 27 to 14, to deny the Dyip its potential first win after a 24-game losing streak.

William Navarro tied the game at 81-all before two free throws from him gave NorthPort the lead back with 2:26 left in the game. Navarro then went for a slam that made it an 89-83 affair in the final 44 seconds.

NorthPort improved to an even 5-5 card while Terrafirma slid to a winless 0-9 win-loss slate.

Arvin Tolentino led Northport with a double-double of 31 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals while Navarro finished with 12 markers, seven boards, and one dime.

Robert Bolick was also on point, registering 12 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds.
