Scottie Thompson on track for BPC plum, Justin Brownlee leads Best Import race
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel stars Scottie Thompson and Justin Brownlee are on track to take the top individual awards for the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
At the end of the semifinals, Thompson placed second in the Best Player of the Conference race with 32.1 statistical points (SPs) behind NorthPort Batang Pier's Robert Bolick who had 33.9 SPs. However, Bolick and the Batang Pier did not reach the semis after being swept by Barangay Ginebra in the quarters.
Following Bolick and Thompson are San Miguel's CJ Perez (31.3 SPs), Ginebra's Jamie Malonzo (30.9 SPs), and NLEX's Don Trollano (29.1 SPs).
Meanwhile, Justin Brownlee led the Best Import race with 52.70 points, while Magnolia Hotshots' Nick Rakocevic had 45.5 SPs to finish second, and Devon Scott of San Miguel made it to the top three with 44.8 SPs.
Individual awards will be given out prior to Game 4 of the best-of-seven finals on January 6. Barangay Ginebra leads the finals series against Bay Area Dragons, 1-0.
