Back from injury, Jack Animam signs with French basketball club

Jack Animam is making her much-awaited return to the competitive hardcourt as she inked a deal to play for Toulouse Metropole Basket in one of Europe's top-tier leagues, the Ligue Feminine de Basketball (LFB) Division 1 in France.

Animam confirmed the development to GMA Integrated News on Friday as she marked her comeback ever since sustaining a horrible ACL injury that had been sidelining her for a year now.

Animam previously played for Radnicki Kragujevac, a club in the First Women's Basketball League of Serbia, allowing the 6-foot-2 slotman to become the first-ever Filipino to play as an import in Europe.

Toulouse is currently 11th in the team standings in LFB with a 2-8 win-loss card and Animam's presence could be a game changer given how she fared in her short stint with Radnicki Kragujevac.

Animam, holder of two Southeast Asian (SEA) Games gold medals in both 3x3 and 5-on-5 divisions, posted averages of 20 points, 14.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.9 blocks in seven games she played for the Serbian ballclub.
