Adamson keeps Peter Rosillo, Mat Edding in program; RJ Colonia, Pervy Timbang stay in NU

Several UAAP high school standouts will still remain in their respective alma maters.

Season 85 juniors basketball finalists Peter Rosillo and Mat Edding from Adamson University committed to remain in the Falcons' nest.

The Soaring Falcons announced the development on Monday.

Rosillo, 19, is a 5-foot-8 playmaker from Surigao del Norte who posted averages of 13.79 points, 4.14 rebounds, 2.43 assists, 1.5 steals, while the 20-year old Edding is a 6-foot-1 skipper from Zamboanga City with averages of 10.92 points, 7.77 rebounds, 4.62 assists, 2.46 steal.

Soaring Falcons head coach Nash Racela said the commitment of the two contributes to the continuity of Adamson's program.

"This is big for the continuity of our program. We are aware of how other programs do their recruitment and we want to do it another way. That's why we put so much importance in our high school program in the hope that they will transition smoothly to our seniors team," said Racela.

The two will join the likes of Jerom Lastimosa, 6-foot-tall Fil-Am guard Matthew Montebon and transferee Eli Ramos as the Falcons aim to make another run in the UAAP Final Four.

On the other side of Manila, National University also secured the commitment of homegrown talents RJ Colonia and Pervy Timbang, in an announcement they made on April 27.

The 6-foot-1 Colonia averaged 13.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.1 steals in his first and only season in the juniors, while Timbang who stands at 6-foot-2, posted norms of 8.2 points, 5.1 rebounds 2.3, assists.

Bulldogs head coach Jeff Napa said the commitment of their two homegrown talents is part of the culture they are building in National U's basketball program.

"Ganito naman yung gusto naming i-build na culture talaga, na from juniors to seniors, iisa lang ang identity ng Bulldogs," said Napa.

("This is the culture that we want to build, from juniors to seniors, it's just one identity for the Bulldogs.")

Colonia and Timbang will join a guard-heavy squad for National U which includes high school teammate Reinhard Jumamoy, fellow newcomer Bobby Mark Paras, and the likes of Kean Baclaan, Steve Nash Enriquez, Jake Figueroa, and John Galinato as they aim for another Final Four run in Season 86.
