Pontejos, Castillo tow Gilas Women past Malaysia for silver medal finish
Janine Pontejos and Khate Castillo got hot as the Philippine national women's basketball team took down Malaysia, 77-63, to claim the silver medal on Monday in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.
Pontejos tallied 24 markers from a 5-of-11 shooting clip from beyond the arc, while Castillo listed 18 points, making them the only double digit scorers for Gilas Pilipinas Women. Despite being limited to six points, Jack Animam also made her presence felt as she grabbed 13 boards.

Hui Pin Pang and Yin Yin Chong tallied 15 and 10 points each in the losing effort for Malaysia.
Malaysia was the only loss Gilas listed in the Hanoi edition of the biennial meet where the nationals won the gold medal.
The Philippines will finish with a 5-1 record in this edition, with Indonesia sweeping the competition for the gold.
In basketball, the national team has clinched three silvers in total in the Cambodia meet, with the men's 5-on-5 team awaiting their next game against Singapore in the semifinals.
