San Sebastian, Mapua notch wins in Filoil Preseason tourney

San Sebastian College-Recoletos and Mapua University both notched wins in the 2023 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup held in San Juan on Saturday.

The Stags defeated Jose Rizal University, 91-83, with 23 points coming from Reggz Albert Gabat. Jacob Shanoda added 14 points and a rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards. Rafael Are had 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Earlier, Mapua University dismantled Arellano University, 92-76.

John Kobe Dalisay had 18 points while Warren Bonifacio posted 16 points, eight boards, and six assists. Clint Escamis almost had a triple-double as he had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Cyrus Cuenco, meanwhile, had 17 points.

As of writing, University of the Philippines is taking on National University while De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will go against San Beda University at 4 pm.
