JRU ends Filoil campaign on 4-game win streak, knocks Arellano down to 0-9

Jose Rizal University ended its 2023 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup campaign on a high note, beating Arellano University, 78-65, to close out the tournament on a four-game winning streak.

The Heavy Bombers wrapped up their Filoil campaign at the fifth spot with a 5-4 win-loss card while the Chiefs fell to a 0-9 slate.

Veteran Agem Miranda led the way after scoring 10 straight points in the fourth quarter to give the Heavy Bombers a 75-59 cushion with 2:27 left to play. He finished the game with 12 markers, eight rebounds, and one assist to carry the load for JRU.

Theo Pabico and Shawn Argente, meanwhile, provided the help after they chipped in 14 and 10 markers while Patrick Ramos chimed in with 11 points.

Arellano leaned on the duo of Jade Talampas and Danielle Mallari who poured in 17 and 15 points, respectively, while also grabbing eight and seven rebounds, respectively.
