Fran Yu stars as NorthPort completes comeback against Ginebra in PBA On Tour

Ahead of the PBA Draft, Fran Yu is already making an impact as the NorthPort Batang Pier completed a come-from-behind win against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 101-95, on Saturday in the PBA On Tour at the Batangas City Coliseum.

The former Letran star led NorthPort with 21 points, 13 of which came in the fourth period, and dished out eight assists.

Ginebra led by 15 at the end of the first period, 32-17, before the Batang Pier surged in the second quarter by scoring 28 points while limiting Ginebra to just nine points to end the first half at 45-41 in NorthPort's favor.

JM Calma and Paul Zamar chipped in 16 points apiece, while Arvin Tolentino added 15 points as NorthPort improved to 3-2.

Jeremiah Gray had 26 points and 11 boards, while Von Pessumal had 16 points. Both Nards Pinto and Aljon Mariano registered double-doubles with the former posting 14 points and 10 rebounds, while the latter had 10 points and 10 boards. Ginebra went down to 1-3 in the preseason tourney.

On Sunday, Meralco and Terrafirma will face off at 5 p.m., while San Miguel and Converge will battle at 7:30 pm at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
