Onwubere, Gray drop double-doubles as Ginebra foils TNT

Sidney Onwubere and Jeremiah Gray led the charge to tow Barangay Ginebra to an 81-67 victory against TNT in the 2023 PBA On Tour on Friday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Onwubere churned out 21 points and 16 rebounds laced with four assists while Gray registered 18 markers and 11 boards alongside one dime and one steal as Ginebra went 5-5 ahead of their last game next week.

The Tropang Giga, who were eyeing another victory following their breakthrough win last Wednesday against Phoenix Super LPG, banked on Glenn Khobuntin, who starred with a team-high 25 points together with nine rebounds.

In the first game, the troika of Don Trollano, Kevin Alas, and Sean Anthony took turns in steering NLEX to a 112-104 victory against Converge to bounce back from a previous loss to Meralco.

Trollano had himself a game, finishing with an almost double-double outing of 26 points and nine rebounds off the bench to go with five assists and two steals while Alas dropped 25 markers highlighted three triples.

Anthony, meanwhile, listed 23 points, seven boards, and six dimes as the Road Warriors improved to 4-5. The FiberXers, on the other hand, slipped to an even 5-5 slate ahead of their last game against NorthPort on Friday.

NLEX will face TNT on Wednesday and Ginebra on Sunday, July 30.
