Jordan Clarkson 'excited' to play for Gilas in FIBA World Cup

Jordan Clarkson is raring to play for Gilas Pilipinas for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

In an Instagram video posted by the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, Clarkson gave a message to his fans.

"I'm here in Manila, excited to play for Team Philippines," the NBA star said.

"Gonna have a good time, get some wins, and I'mma see you all soon."

Clarkson is expected to lead the Philippine men's basketball team in its campaign in the World Cup.

During the team's first two tuneup matches, he provided reliable numbers with 13 points in their win against Cote d'Ivoire and 27 points in a loss against Montenegro .

Clarkson and the rest of the Gilas squad will face Karl Anthony-Towns and the Dominican Republic squad on Friday to open their World Cup campaign at the Philippine Arena.
