Montenegro, Lithuania advance to 2nd round of FIBA World Cup

Montenegro and Lithuania on Sunday picked up their respective second wins in the 2023 FIBA World Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena to advance to the second round of the tournament.

The Montenegrins defeated Egypt, 89-74, with Nikola Vucevic posting 16 points and seven rebounds. Nikola Ivanovic, meanwhile, had 15 points in their second win in Group D.

Meanwhile, Lithuania dismantled Mexico, 96-66. Jonas Valanciunas had 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Rokas Jokubaitis also chipped in 15 points. Mindaugas Kuzminskas added 14 points in the Lithuania win.

The two teams will dispute for the top spot of Group D as they face each other on Tuesday.
