PBA: Suleiman Braimoh drops 40 as Meralco downs Blackwater


Suleiman Braimoh Meralco Bolts PBA

Reinforcement Suleiman Braimoh, Jr. dropped 40 points to propel the Meralco Bolts past the Blackwater Bossing, 91-84, on Saturday in the PBA 48th Season Commissioner's Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Braimoh shot 13 of his 30 field goal attempts, including three triples, on top of 16 rebounds, three steals, and an assist to hand Meralco its second straight win.

After ending the first half at 47-42, the Bolts led by as much as 14 points, 60-46, early in the third period before eventually taking the win.

Cliff Hodge led the locals with nine points and 13 boards, while Bong Quinto added nine points for the Bolts.

Import Chris Ortiz had 29 points and six rebounds, while Rey Suerte had 10 points and seven boards as Blackwater went down to 1-1.

Meralco will be back in action on November 19 against the San Miguel Beermen, while Blackwater will play the Terrafirma Dyip on Wednesday.
