Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, RJ Abarrientos excited for first B.League All-Star stint

Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, and RJ Abarrientos are looking forward to the B.League All-Star Weekend in Okinawa.

The three Filipino imports shared this on Friday in a virtual media availability as this will be their first time in the festivities.

Ramos, Tamayo, and Abarrientos will join seven fellow Filipino reinforcements and other Asian imports in the Asia All-Star team of the Asia Rising Star event on Saturday afternoon.

For Ramos of Levanga Hokkaido, he will just grab the opportunity he was given.

"It's pretty cool since it's my first All-star and I got to be picked as the captain somehow," said the Asia team captain.

"I think it's pretty cool and I'll just embrace whatever comes with it."

The Ryukyu Golden Kings' Tamayo, meanwhile, said this will be different since they are now sharing the same side of the court instead of going against each other in regular season games.

"Masaya kasi lagi kaming magkalaban dito and sa moment na 'to, magkakampi kami. 'Yung time na ganito, bihirang mangyari so happy and excited na makalaro sila," said Tamayo.

(I'm just happy because we're opponents usually here and at this moment, we're teammates. This rarely happens so I'm happy and excited to play with them.)

Abarrientos echoed the same sentiment.

"Sobrang excited na medyo kakaibang All-Star kasi ito eh," the Shinshu Brave Warriors player said.

"Mas magagaling 'yung mga makakalaban ko at makakasama ko. May halong excitement and may halo ring kaba," he added.

(I'm excited because this is kind of a different All-Star. Players are more talented from both sides. There's excitement and nerves as well.)

Brothers Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Ray Parks, Jr., Kai Sotto, Matthew Wright, Greg Slaughter, and Roosevelt Adams are also part of the Asia All-Star team.
