PBA: Bryan Santos leads Converge past Meralco to snap 12-game skid


Bryan Santos led the Converge FiberXers past the Meralco Bolts, 104-99, to end its 12-game losing skid on Sunday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Santos waxed hot and scored 22 points anchored on seven triples as Converge barged into the win column and notched its first victory since December last year.

The game was tied at 97 at the 3:32 mark of the fourth period before a Santos triple gave Converge breathing room heading into the final minutes of the game. Newsome scored to cut Meralco's deficit but freebies from Schonny Winston and a jumper by JL Delos Santos sealed the deal for the FiberXers.

Aside from Santos, Alec Stockton had 20 points, while Justin Arana had 18 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists at Converge put its record at 1-8.

Chris Newsome had 25 points, while Chris Banchero had 20 points as Meralco dropped to 3-5.
