Carl Tamayo heads to Korea, joins Changwon LG Sakers

Carl Tamayo is bound for South Korea after deciding to sign with the LG Sakers to see action in the Korean Basketball League, the team announced on Wednesday.

The Filipino import in January parted ways with the Ryukyu Golden Kings in the Japan B. League , where he spent two seasons and helped the squad win the title in 2023 .

At Changwon, Tamayo will reinforce a squad that finished last season with an impressive 36-18 win-loss record. LG Sakers were able to reach the semifinals, but fell to Suwon to end their title bid.

Tamayo also became the latest Filipino cager to play in the said country, alongside the likes of SJ Belangel and Dave Ildefonso.
