PBA: George King delivers in debut, tows Blackwater past Barangay Ginebra
Import George King introduced himself to the league as he towed Blackwater past Barangay Ginebra, 95-88, on Friday in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
King, who replaced Ricky Ledo, registered 33 points, 19 rebounds, and four assists to help the Bossing notch its first win in the Group B games.
While King stuffed the stat sheet, rookie Sedrick Barefield proved he was clutch for the Bossing.
Blackwater had its biggest lead, 80-66, before Ginebra almost closed the gap, 91-88, with 1:01 remaining in the final frame. However, Barefield came to the rescue and drilled a four-pointer to give Blackwater a comfortable lead with 31.2 seconds left, which eventually became the game-winner.
