Is Mikey Williams open for a TNT return?

At least just for a night, Mikey Williams was on the audience's side during a PBA game.

Williams on Friday was seen on the sidelines of the match between his former team TNT and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the PBA Commissioner's Cup which the Tropang Giga won, 91-86.

For Williams, however, he would have wanted to play with his former team.

"Kind of heartfelt, I want to be out there with them," Williams said.

"There are some things that still need to be addressed. I definitely miss them, but it's love seeing them as well. I just wish I could compete with them. Only time will tell when that's possible," Williams said on Friday.

Williams last played with TNT during the PBA Governors' Cup Finals of 2023 where he was named Finals MVP. Since then, he has not played in the PBA.

While Williams said he misses playing with the Tropang Giga, the former TNT star declined to comment whether there are ongoing talks for his return.

"I always wanted to be with TNT. No question, but only time will tell."

TNT head coach Chot Reyes, meanwhile, said it has been a while since he communicated with Williams.

"We haven't spoken in a while. There was a time we were in touch with his agents, ang dami nang nakausap ko, hindi ko na alam sino talaga, but since then, radio silent for perhaps one year or at least six months already," Reyes said.

"He knows my number, he knows how to get in touch with me. I always say I'm just a message or phone call away, but we didn't allow it (Williams' presence) to affect us."

Williams will be back in action when the Strong Group Athletics competes in the upcoming Dubai International Basketball Championship.

"Everybody's just familiar with the game and they understand what we need to do to win as a whole. Practicing with them, you learn a lot, you pick their brains," Williams said.
