Strong Group beats Al Nasr SC for second win in Dubai

Strong Group Athletics notched its second win in the Dubai International Basketball Championship at the expense of Al Nasr SC, 99-87, Saturday at the Al Nasr Club.

After ending the first half with a 50-38 advantage, the Charles Tiu-coached squad pulled away in the third period and led 60-47 at the 5:17 mark of the third period.

Al Nasr, however, managed to trim its deficit to within five, 77-72, at the 7:21 mark of the fourth period before Strong Group regrouped and made an 11-0 run to lead by 16 with less than five minutes left and eventually claim the win.

Chris McCollough had 31 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, while Mikey Williams and Dave Ildefonso had 16 and 13 points apiece as Strong Group improved to 2-0.

Harat Mohammed led with 34 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, while Marvelle Harris had 30 points.

Strong Group will face Beirut First Sunday for its third game.
