Barangay Ginebra's Tim Cone gives TNT its flowers after epic Game 7 battle

Tim Cone had little to say after his Barangay Ginebra squad fell prey anew to TNT, this time in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup Finals Game 7 on Friday at the jam-packed Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The decorated tactician, however, gave the Tropang Giga proper credit in his parting shots before leaving the Big Dome.

"What more can I say? They’ve outplayed us, they deserve it. Game’s over," Cone said to reporters.

"They made the big plays down the stretch, we didn’t. That’s all I gotta say, I mean, what else can I say? They deserved it more than we did."

Ginebra kept it close the whole time against TNT in the winner-take-all Game 7 and Justin Brownlee even sent the game into overtime after drilling a massive three-pointer in the clutch.

But the Gin Kings just collapsed in the extra period no thanks to four costly turnovers, including two from Brownlee in the dying minutes that ultimately set the stage for the crowning moment of TNT with a narrow 87-83 win.

Cone admitted everything just went TNT's way and said the Tropang Giga were more deserving of the title that the Gin Kings did.

"It was a classic finals that went into overtime during the seventh game. I don’t remember that happening before," he added.

"I’m not a really good loser, let’s put it this way. Bottomline is we lost and they deserve it and they deserve the celebration."
